| Description | The Ramsbottom Gas Co was established by Act of Parliament in 1854. The works were at Stubbins. In 1936 the company was purchased by the UKGC Ltd though it continued to trade in its own right. By 1939 however, gas was supplied from the Rossendale Union Gas Co works. In 1949 it became part of the Bury-Rossendale Group of the NWGB. There are only five items in this collection including two maps of the town showing gas supply. [1854 - 1949]. |
