Description
In 1877 the Hoylake and West Kirby Gas and Water Company Ltd was formed by Memorandum and Articles of Association. Special Orders were obtained in 1878 and the works were built on Carr Lane next to the railway station in Hoylake. The waterworks were built in West Kirby. In 1925 the undertaking was purchased by Hoylake UDC and the works were modernised. A Special Order of 1933 authorised Wallasey Corporation to purchase the Saughall Massie 'undertaking' from Hoylake.
