| Description | Formed by Act of Parliament in 1826 as the Heywood Gas Light and Coke Co this undertaking was taken over by the Local Board in 1867 and then the Corporation in 1881. It supplied Heywood, Heap Bridge, Birch and Bamford. The works were at Hooley Bridge in Heywood and in 1949 the undertaking became part of the Oldham-Rochdale Group of the NWGB. There is only one item in this collection: a volume of annual accounts. |
