Description
Formed in 1861 by Act of Parliament this company continued to operate the works up to nationalisation. By 1938 it was purchasing gas in bulk from the coke ovens of the Lancashire Foundry Coke Co Ltd at Moorfield. In 1949 it became part of the Bury-Rossendale Group of the NWGB. There are three items only in this collection: a plan of the works, an agreement and a volume of distribution plans. [1864 - 1942]
