Title	FRODSHAM GAS AND WATER COMPANY
Description	The Frodsham Gas Co Ltd was formed in 1856. The works were on Gasworks Rd with additional storage on Ship St. An Act of Parliament in 1888 reincorporated the company as the Frodsham Gas and Water Co and granted additional powers to raise capital, build a waterworks and extend the gasworks. In 1935 the company was acquired by the holding company UKGC although it continued to trade as the Frodsham GWCo. In 1938 it amalgamated with the Runcorn and District Gas Co which vested in the Mid-Cheshire Group of the NWGB. Records are listed at NW: RUD
