DescriptionFormed in 1838 by Articles of Agreement, the Colne Gaslight and Coke Co was purchased by the Colne and Marsden Local Board in 1877. The works were in Waterside on Knotts Lane. The undertaking remained in local authority ownership until 1949 when it became part of the Burnley-Colne Group of the NWGB. This collection contains only two items: an insurance policy and an apprenticeship indenture.
