Description	View of open trench with several mains and valves; legend " Wavertree Works Shows the connections made near the works entrance as a first step to enable messenger main gas (ie IHP gas) from Garston works to be connected directly through on to the Edge Lane high pressure mains. The main in the top right-hand corner will eventually be connected to the 'P'valve on the messenger main whilst the main in the bottom left-hand corner is the present outlet of the 'D' governor which supplies the Edge Lane district. The upper main of the two running to the top left-hand corner is the present inlet to governor main and the lower main is the present outlet of the 'D' governor. The Valves on this main will be closed when the Edge Lane IHP scheme comes into operation"; Ref M151A; dated July 1947
